About Mohiniyattam

Elegance and grace in motion

Sacred Origins

Mohiniyattam is a classical dance form from Kerala, traditionally performed by women and rooted in the devotional temples of the region. With its flowing movements and subtle expressions, it embodies feminine grace and divine storytelling.

Our Approach

At Lasya, we celebrate the traditional aesthetics of Mohiniyattam while integrating modern pedagogical techniques. Our training emphasizes fluidity, expression, and deep emotional connection, making it meaningful for dancers of all ages.

What You'll Learn

Our curriculum introduces students to foundational steps (adavus), lasya-based abhinaya, choreographies set to Sopana Sangeetham, and semi-classical items. Emphasis is placed on grace, breath control, and emotive storytelling.
